This is achieved by designing the tools to have a more compact size, while still maintaining the brand’s identity with its modern and distinctive black and yellow colors.

Join us for a deep dive into popular power tools and business concepts, and explore highlights ready to be launched at Architect’25 through a conversation with Khun Jarin Setthachayanon, Marketing Manager, Black & Decker (Thailand) Co., Ltd.

DEWALT and creating an identity to win the hearts of users

DEWALT, one of the world’s leading brands of cordless power tools which has participated in the Architect Expo for years, shares its experience in utilizing customer feedback to continuously develop the brand. What makes customers interested in the DEWALT brand is maintaining the identity and standards of the products. Khun Charin said that,

“Each year, DEWALT tries to ensure the booth is unique and hopes that people will be intrigued and visit the booth. Last year was a success, with many paying a visit to the booth, which made us realize that customers are really into the brand’s products. When compared to other brands, it is clear that the response is quite good. DEWALT therefore tries to maintain our identity, which is to impress the customers upon visiting. In addition, there are also power tools sold. 60-70% of those who visit the booth is due to its identity and products under the DEWALT brand.”

3 standpoints which makes all the difference

Currently, there are more and more brands of power tools. From users’ perspective, it may be advantageous in terms of having a variety of options. At the same time, from the viewpoint of the distributor or brand owner, this situation poses competition. To win, one must create an identity and make a difference. DEWALT places great emphasis on this issue.

“We have 3 standpoints: product, service and variety. Products are the main factor that differentiate DEWALT from other competitors. Because DEWALT’s products are widely accessible to customers. Due to the affordable price and after-sales service which features a longer service period than many other brands. For instance, power tools have a 3-year warranty. Hand tools, tape measures, and torpedo level have a lifetime warranty. If there is any issue, you can claim the product according to the warranty conditions. With a variety of products, high efficiency, and attractive designs that are functional, the brand stands out from other competitors.”

Technological development for a better life

There has been a trend change in the modern tool industry in the power tool group to be in a cordless format. All aspects have been developed whether for technology, safety or convenience. It allows users to work better and faster, resulting in less impact on the environment.

“When comparing between the old tools with long cables of several meters and the current cordless tool system, the construction site has become more organized and safer because there is no need to drag wires around. The construction can also be finished faster due to stronger battery power and smaller battery size.”

“With its battery technology, DEWALT has launched DEWALT POWERSTACK, the world’s smallest battery of the 18V (20V Max) system tools. With battery cells designed specifically for use with cordless power tools, the tools are smaller and lighter, while providing more power, less heat, and longer battery life. DEWALT has also increased the warranty for all POWERSTACK batteries to be a full 2 years, which would be beneficial to users in the long run.”

The path that connects tools with the design and construction industry

The advancement of technology in the development of tools, in addition to making them function more efficiently, has also greatly affected the overall design and construction industry. Khun Charin continued that,

“The brand’s business operations are consistent with the development of the design-construction industry because when the technology of power tools are developed, the construction would be easier and faster.”

“For instance, the concrete nailer that has recently been imported for sale in Thailand under the brand DEWALT has ensured that several steps of work, including drilling, driving dowels, etc., would be decreased as the concrete nailer can drive nails into place immediately. From one hour of work, the working time would be reduced to 15 minutes, ensuring faster construction.”

Update on popular tools

Within 2024, there will be the launch and development of several products under the DEWALT brand. Products which have been very popular in the past include the ¾-inch impact wrench DCF964, premium hammer drill driver DCD1007, the concrete nailer DCN890, the hydraulic impact driver DCF870, and the Tough System toolbox set model DXL, etc.

“The DCN890 nailer was launched 2 months ago. This tool meets the needs of several groups of technicians, whether electricians, ceiling installers, lightweight wall installers, which makes the construction faster and cleaner as there is no need for drilling to create dust”

“The premium hammer drill driver DCD1007, which is considered as a drill driver with the highest power in the market right now, meets the needs of customers who require heavy construction work, such as thick concrete drilling, which can be done quickly. It also features the anti-rotation system designed to shut down immediately upon detecting bind-up, ensuring safety with this high-powered drill.”

“In October, DEWALT launched the DCF870 hydraulic impact driver, which features reduced impact noise mechanism and low vibration, making it easier and more convenient to use, which has received a lot of attention. In terms of technology and appearance, it is designed to look more outstanding than other brands. When compared to brands that have been launched for years, DEWALT stands out and is more interesting, with a more compact size and lighter weight, while delivering high performance.”

DEWALT has launched several tools, all of which are efficient and meet all construction needs. However, at the upcoming Architect’25, DEWALT is responding to the needs of more specific customer groups by offering a variety of tools.

“The brand wants to offer more specialized tools, which is a request from customers, such as cable cutters, threading machines, crimping pliers and 7-inch metal cutting circular saws. DEWALT would like to invite everyone to experience our tools. Although there are currently many brands of power tools and various social media channels, however, to select a tool, seeing and touching the product with your own eyes and hands are still necessary.

“DEWALT would like to invite everyone to experience the actual products to know the efficiency, weight, and convenience during use. Because in addition to the highlighted products that will be showcased, the booth presentation would also surely be in a different new and exciting design. For booth activities, the brand will focus on creating a user experience. Customers will be able to try out a variety of tools.”
