Because safety comes first — D Fense at Architect ’26

After receiving overwhelming attention at Architect ’25, D Fense, a safety-focused sliding door system brand by Fide Work Group Co., Ltd., returns to Architect ’26 with advanced solutions developed from over 30 years of hands-on experience. The brand continues its mission to elevate safety standards for sliding doors across all types of buildings.

D Fense is led by Mr. Somchai Yuttanapinan, Managing Director of Fine Work Group, who pioneered and developed a new safety system to address critical issues that conventional sliding door systems have long failed to resolve.

Innovation Designed Specifically to Prevent Sliding Door Accidents

The origin of D Fense began with a recurring and serious problem: sliding doors derailing and collapsing, posing significant risks of injury—especially in homes with children and elderly residents, as well as public spaces such as schools and hospitals.

Mr. Somchai explains,

“Our system is designed to function like an airbag for sliding doors. When an impact occurs or the door deviates from its normal alignment, the system immediately locks the panel in place, preventing it from collapsing onto people or objects.”

Key features of the D Fense system include:

  • A proprietary rail and roller system engineered to work in unison to prevent door panel collapse
  • Self-supporting door panels that remain upright without the need for external supports
  • Compatibility with multiple door configurations, including straight sliding, telescopic sliding, curved sliding, and zigzag folding systems
  • Components made from special cast aluminum, offering high strength, corrosion resistance, and long-term durability—enhancing safety without compromising aesthetics or compatibility with existing door designs

The innovation has also received awards from Japan and is fully patented, reinforcing D Fense’s position as the first Thai-developed solution of its kind to be systematically engineered and commercialized.

In the Age of AI, Real-World Experience Remains Essential

When asked about the role of AI, Mr. Somchai notes that while digital technologies offer many benefits, deep material knowledge and real-world system behavior—especially for mechanical systems like sliding doors—still rely heavily on decades of experience.

That said, the company has begun integrating digital platforms and social marketing strategies to communicate more effectively with customers. These efforts have been well received, particularly among audiences actively seeking safety-oriented building solutions.

Designed with Wellness Architecture in Mind—Because Safety Is Well-being

Although D Fense is fundamentally an engineering solution, Wellness Architecture lies at the heart of its design philosophy. The brand views safety as a core component of quality of life.

The system is therefore engineered to:

  • Minimize accident risks in buildings
  • Utilize durable, rust-resistant materials that are easy to maintain
  • Adapt seamlessly across all building types, including residences, schools, hospitals, and office buildings

This approach positions D Fense not merely as an accessory, but as an integral component of long-term, safety-driven architectural design.

Driving New Safety Standards Across Architecture and Real Estate

D Fense’s innovation extends beyond individual homes or projects, contributing positively to the broader industry by:

  • Raising safety standards for public buildings that rely heavily on sliding doors, such as schools, hospitals, and government facilities
  • Reducing long-term accident risks, particularly in environments used by children and the elderly
  • Expanding design possibilities for architects through support for large-scale panels and unconventional forms, enabling greater creative freedom
  • Supporting sustainability by extending the lifespan of door systems, reducing component replacement, and lowering overall material consumption

Experience the Future of Sliding Door Safety at Architect ’26

At Architect ’26, D Fense will showcase:

  • Its latest-generation safety rail and roller systems
  • Newly developed anti-collapse sliding door protection technology
  • Real-world installation examples, including 6.3-meter-high doors, 50-meter-long sliding systems, and zigzag folding doors
  • Additional solutions tailored for large-scale and complex architectural projects

This will be the first opportunity for visitors to experience the full capabilities of the D Fense sliding door system in one place.

Discover next-generation sliding door safety at Booth D408/1 at Architect’26—the largest architectural technology and building materials exhibition in ASEAN—held from April 28 to May 3, 2026, 10:00–20:00 hrs., at Challenger Halls 1–3, IMPACT Muang Thong Thani.
