Immerse in the nature with TOSTEM, an innovative windows and doors, at Architect’23

Japan is a country with advanced technologies. When you consider the well-known Japanese innovation of aluminum doors and windows, TOSTEM is undoubtedly one of the leading companies coming up to mind. TOSTEM is a residential building product brand that enhances your quality of life and housing standards. Before we start uplifting happiness in the house, let’s go behind the scenes with Khun Wicha Worasayun, Leader, Thailand, LHT Asia, LHT Asia Sales and Marketing Co., Ltd., who will share us every secret which includes an exclusive surprise in an honor of the TOSTEM’s 100th anniversary.

Moving forward with innovation that has been developed till its 100th anniversary with the launch of the color of “DUSK GRAY”.

After 100 years of developing innovations to satisfy customer needs, it’s time to step into the new century by delivering another surprise to those who are passionate about functionalities and designs of TOSTEM products. The launch of a new color will allow you to absorb the atmosphere of the light of the sunset’s afterglow just like the color “DUSK GRAY”, a gray-blue shade which will blend into the lifestyle of the residents.

“Connect people to the nature,” a concept that aims to immerse individuals in the natural environment.

Because the technology originated in Japan, a country that encounters severe climate conditions such as freezing temperatures and rainstorms, as well as natural disasters that frequently damage residences. As a result, the main objective of developing innovations from Japan is to enable humans to live in harmony with the environment. Nonetheless, there will be climatic variations in Thailand. Thailand has less severe weather conditions, however it is unavoidable that tropical weather is one of the key factors in designing technologies that can satisfy Thai people’s needs.

However, the main problem of product development becomes how to connect people with the nature. Khun Wicha said “When the weather is good, we wish to feel the outdoor atmosphere. Therefore, the key issue is the windows and doors innovation because it connects us to the outside world. And there’s something even more subtle: an unobstructed connection to the outside in order to improve air flow as well as a connection with a broader vision able to absorb the outside atmosphere endlessly. This is something we have to consider and put into the product.”

Product development, on the other hand, is different. While Thailand has less severe weather conditions than Japan, the demands of clients with diverse cultural backgrounds and lifestyles nonetheless affect product design. “We have adapted Japanese technology to produce products in Thailand to satisfy the needs of Thai people,” said Khun Wicha.

Lifestyle-oriented design and satisfied functionalities

Another concern that TOSTEM customers have is the selection of functionality. When compared to the current situation, we may see a dramatic change in trends and popularity. Also, the more easily individuals can access information from the internet, the more residents know how to choose the materials used in the house on their own. Khun Wicha also revealed that:

“Currently, customer’s expectation is to find something with better quality and they are more likely to purchase things by themselves due to the more easily informative accessibility. Customers, it turns out, seek items that highly respond to their needs in terms of functionalities as well as unique designs. This is how I see things has changed since the past. Traditionally, people did not pay much attention on the aesthetics of windows and doors. Yet, it must now have both beauty and functionality.”

At this point, Khun Wicha addressed trends and customer product preferences and another question was raised. The customer wonder how much trend influences product development and how TOSTEM deals with trends. “It takes time to develop each product. Thus, we must think forward, plan with designers, and discuss with customers in order to develop products that fulfill customer needs in every functionality and design.”

“The integration of four different architectural fields and Architect Council of Thailand (ACT) is considered collaboration and working to drive the integrative innovation in the building technology industry to happen. Similarly, the supplier group, even though each brand has a different product offering, one of the common goals is to provide benefits for customers and visitors who will have the opportunity to select superior innovations. It is also an opportunity for customers to learn and understand how to select the right products that truly respond to their needs.”

Absorb the nature and outdoor atmosphere on your own at Architect’23

“People nowadays favor work-from-home (WFH) policies, and more of them work from home rather than in an office. As a result, it is essential to select products that will allow them to work and live joyfully at home. As a result, TOSTEM prefers to participate in the development of systems or solutions that best respond to the needs of customers.  I believe that TOSTEM has a great team providing information to customers as well as service-minded dealers that are always available to support customers both presales and aftersales.”
