When you hear the word “Architect”, what come to your mind?
The design of buildings, residences, streets, town, or shopping malls…?
It’s been more than 3 decades that Architect Expo has been presented through the different perspectives of architecture each year. However, the upcoming Architect Expo 2022 with Key Visual will create the vital phenomenon of the expo to be completely distinguished.
“Nontawat Charoenchasri – Moo”, design director of DUCTSTORE the design GURU, is a key man in creating this attractive Key Visual by re-arranging the concepts and ideas from the three organizing chairmen to explore more stories and be more interesting.
Chapter One
Interpretation
“After knowing that the concept of Architect Expo 2022 is “CO – WITH CREATORS”, I realized it was a perfect fit for me because I usually work with other artists or designers. My interpretation of the CO – WITH CREATORS concept is “Collaborations”, which are similar to street art or various high-end works in which the artist’s character is incorporated into one’s project. I would like to present an exceptionally distinguished Key Visual at the Architect Expo 2022, in order to be considered real CO – WITH CREATORS.”
“BENZILLA is my chosen artist because his work is contemporary and street-ready.” It is exactly allied with what I want to do, which is to go beyond the limitations of the previous Key Visual frameworks in the Architect Expo that communicate solely through architecture,” Nontawat said of the design concept.
The Key Visual encourages visitors to think about how it comes and find out what they really want to know about one creation without telling them everything about it. In this incredibly interesting Key Visual, they can use their imaginations.
Chapter Two
Logo & Layout
“I intend to design the most playful logo and key visual for Architect Expo 2022.”
Nontawat intends to create a logo that is “easiest to read and understand” while not competing with the main Key Visual. In the meantime, they will support each other. He wants the logo’s font to look like the “Box logo” of a high-end brand. It looks cool when it’s on a shirt! And, depending on the usage purpose, this year’s logo should be able to be positioned in a variety of styles, either in one line or two.
Chapter Three
DUCTSTORE X BENZILLA
The highlight of this Key Visual is BENZILLA’s Three Ball character, which appears in every element of this Key Visual “Living Space”. If visitors look closely at the lines and patterns, they will notice that it represents the lifestyle of contemporary urban people, such as planting trees, listening to music, raising animals, working, cycling, skateboarding, and so on.
“The style of this Key Visual is relatively clear, semi-artistic.” I believe it is approachable to a wide range of people, particularly new groups of people that we hope to attract to the Architect Expo 2022.”

The Outstanding Challenges
“I wanted to make the Key Visual more fun, so it could communicate well with new audiences, rather than the Architect Expo’s target. I’d like to communicate with people in the design field other than architects and would like to invite anyone that is interested in design and art to attend the expo because there is a lot you can do or get involved in.”

Architect Expo 2022 will be a collaboration of artists, designers, and creators that will bring a new perspective on collaboration to a larger community. In the expo, you can perceive information and knowledge that are not only about architecture.
“I would like to express my gratitude and appreciation to the three organizing chairmen who dared to create the KEY VISUAL of Architect Expo 2022, which is well in line with the theme of CO – WITH CREATORS, which usually requires knowledge sharing and difference acceptance in order to create wonderful new things. Finally, we will exceed our former selves. I believe it is a new perspective of the Architect Expo that is certainly different from previous years,” Nontawat concluded.
There’s a saying “together, we go beyond”, which I’m not sure who said it first. However, once the Key Visual was made public, it proved that collaboration can result in something new and different from the original.
